  • Organization of State Level Annual Action Plan Workshop 2019-20 of KVKs of Uttarakhand

    The state level annual action plan workshop 2019-20 of KVKs of Uttarakhand, ATARI Zone 1, Ludhiana was organized at ICAR-VPKAS Almora on July 22, 2019.  All the thirteen KVKs from Uttarakhand participated in the workshop. Dr P L Gautam Ex Vice-Chancellor, GBPUA&T, Pantnagar was the Chief Guest and Dr. Tej Partap, Vice-Chancellor, GBPUA&T, Pantnagar the Guest of Honour on the occasion.  The workshop started with a welcome address by Dr A. Pattanayak, Director ICAR-VPKAS, Almora. The Chief Guest, Dr. P. L. Gautam expressed his views about genesis, importance, functioning, significance and challenges of KVKs in Uttarakhand and asked the KVKs to work as a role model for the extension of the newly developed technologies. He said that this activity should be continued and organized every year for the state and stressed that the KVK staff should know about the demographic detail and agriculture requirement of the farmers in their respective districts.

    Dr. Tej Pratap, Vice-Chancellor, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, highlighted the role played by the KVKs in the development of agriculture. He also spoke about the need of considering social, economic and ecological aspects for sustainable hill farming system. Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana said that the work of the KVKs should be documented well.  On the occasion, a publication namely Vivekananda Krishak Prashnottari was released by the dignitaries. Dr. P.N. Singh, Director of Extension Education GBPUA&T, Pantnagar proposed the vote of thanks. After this, regular session on planning and formulation of action plan was held in the Chairmanship of Director, ATARI, in which Heads/ In-charge from all thirteen districts presented their action plan for 2019-20, which was finalized after the thread bearing discussions.
