• Programmes conducted on 70th Anniversary of adoption of Constitution of India

    On 30 January 2020, a gosthi was organized at ICAR-VPKAS Experimental Farm, Hawalbagh to discuss about the “Important Constitutional Amendments & their significance and Agriculture Act and Agriculture legislation & its importance in post WTO era” where employees of the Institute actively participated.  Dr. K. K. Mishra, Nodal Officer informed the house that the Government of India has desired to run awareness campaign focused on Citizens duties including Fundamental Duties as enshrined in the Indian Constitution from Nov. 26, 2019 to Nov. 26, 2020. In the same context, various programs have to be organized in different fortnights of the month. Dr. Ashish Kumar Singh, Scientist, Nematology addressed the gathering and briefed about the important constitutional amendments & their significance. He informed the house that so far more than 103 amendments have been taken place in our Constitution.

    He also elaborated some important amendments like 16, 42, 44, 52, 61, 73, 74, 91, 92, 97. He told that recently 103rd amendment has been added into the list which provides 10 per cent reservation to the weaker section of people. Dr. Singh also briefed about Agricultural Acts and Legislation. Dr. J.K. Bisht, Acting Director & Head, Crop Production Division detailed about the relevance of the program. He was of the opinion that such programs must build the knowledge about our Constitution amongst the people and all will be benefitted by such programs.
