• Plantation during Harela festival

    Harela is considered as an auspicious day in hills and every year celebrated religiously. It falls in the Shravan (Hindu calendar month) which marks the rainy season. The ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora celebrate this Harela day, every year and conduct the plantation activities of different forest and horticultural species. Institute on the auspicious occasion of Harela (16 July 2020) conducted plantation activities under the direction of Director of the institute. In which this year appx 80 plants of citrus spp. i.e., Citrus sinensis (Malta) and Citus limon (hill lemon) were planted at Experimental Farm, Hawalbagh. Director, ICAR-VPKAS and all the staff (scientist, technical and supporting) were present on the occasion and made successful this plantation drive.
