ICAR VPKAS organised Short Course on Hill Agriculture for BHU Students

A training program on “Short course on Hill Agriculture” was organised by ICAR-VPKAS, Almora from 27th May-31st May, 2022. The training program was coordinated by Dr. J P Aditya, Dr. Rakesh Bhowmick and Dr. Amit Kumar. The training program was inaugurated by Dr. Lakshmi Kant, Director of the institute, in the presence of scientists and trainees. A total of thirty-one students from Banaras Hindu University attended the training program. Out of 31 students, 10 students were from Nepal. Scientists of the institute delivered 13 lectures on diverse area of hill agriculture which include Integrated Pest and Disease management, Organic farming, Farm mechanization, Biotechnology, Mushroom cultivation, Protected cultivation, Bee keeping, etc. The trainees were also given practical experience on protected cultivation and bee keeping. At the end of the training, the trainees expressed that they have been benefited from the training, which enhanced their theoretical as well as practical knowledge on different areas of hill agriculture. Training was concluded by felicitation of the students by Dr. Lakshmi Kant, Director of the institute.
