On the occasion to commemorate the historical event on adoption of Constitution of the independent India, programmes were organized at Almora and Hawalbagh campus of ICAR-VPKAS, Almora institute to celebrate the Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) on 26th of November, 2021. In the morning session, all staff members of the institute and a group of students from Govt. Inter College, Hawalbagh participated in the event live telecast from Central Hall of Parliament and read the Preamble led by Hon’ble President of India.
In the afternoon session, a conference (gosthi) was organized to cherish the glory and affirm honest commitment to the constitution of India. The conference was chaired by Director Dr J.K. Bisht and participated in by all staff members of ICAR VPKAS. The goshthi commenced with formal welcome by Dr R.K. Khulbe. In the goshthi, Mr Keshav Nautiyal delivered lecture on ‘Indian constitution - at a glance’ in which he gave a brief account of the historical aspects behind the birth of Indian constitution in a chronological way, emphasized the importance of Constitution Day and commemorated people who contributed to the development of the constitution. The next speaker Dr Ashish Kumar Singh, delivered lecture on “rules and acts related to agriculture” in which he highlighted various agricultural acts, their constitutional status and contextual significance in the current scenario. Dr J.K. Bisht, Chairman of the session, addressed the conference and emphasized the need to appreciate and assimilate the intrinsic values and fundamental principles enshrined in the Indian constitution. He also highlighted the requisites of the constitution to achieve social goals. The programme concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr Ashish Kumar Singh. The conference was attended by 67 participants and successfully coordinated by the Dr R.K. Khulbe and Dr Ashish Kumar Singh.
