Valedictory Function of RAWE 2024 Concludes Successfully at ICAR-VPKAS, Almora

The valedictory function of the Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) 2024 program was successfully held on 14th November 2024 at ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan (VPKAS), Hawalbagh. The event marked the conclusion of a RAWE learning program involving 83 students from various universities for three months (July to October). The program began with a welcome address by the RAWE Nodal Officer, Dr. Ashish Kumar Singh, who highlighted the objectives and outcomes of the program and appreciated the active participation of students along with the support provided by faculty members and resource persons. Students then shared their feedback, expressing gratitude for the invaluable learning experience and exposure to advanced agricultural practices.

                                                                                      

The highlight of the event was the address by Dr. N.K. Hedau, Head of the Crop Improvement Division and Director In-Charge of ICAR-VPKAS, who applauded the students’ enthusiasm and encouraged them to utilize their knowledge for the betterment of agriculture in their respective areas. Dr. Manoj Bisht, Senior Scientist from the Crop Production Division, shared his insights on sustainable farming in hill regions and motivated students to pursue higher studies and follow proactiveness. Dr. Amit Thakur, Scientist from the Social Science Section, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of agriculture in rural development, this year, the RAWE program saw participation from Jaipur National University, Jaipur, with 59 students, DSB Campus, Kumaon University, Nainital, with 20 students, Noida International University, Noida, with 3 students, and Graphic Era Hill University, Bhimtal, with 1 student. The event provided an excellent platform for students to reflect on their experiences, interact with experts, and discuss innovative agricultural approaches. The valedictory function concluded on a positive note with a vote of thanks to all participants, organizers, and faculty members for making the program a resounding success.
