Organization of the half yearly meeting of Town Official Language Implementation Committee (NARAKAS), Almora
ICAR- Vivekananda Mountain Agriculture Research Institute, Almora, on 21.12.2022, the meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (NARAKAS), Almora was organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Lakshmi Kant, Director of the Institute and President of NARAKAS. Officers and representatives of central government departments, offices, undertakings, armed forces and nationalized banks of Almora city participated in the meeting. Dr. J.K. Bisht, Head of the Department, Crop Production welcomed all the participants and apprised them of the achievements of the institute and presented the introduction of the program. Thereafter, the representatives of all the member offices introduced themselves. After this, Dr. Priyanka Khati, Scientist presented the action taken on the points of the previous meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee. Information about the Official Language Annual Program 2022-23, 3(3) of the Official Language Act 1963 and Official Language Rule 11 was given by Mrs. Renu Sanwal, Assistant Chief Technical Officer. Dr Lakshmikant, President of Narakas and Director of the Institute, while welcoming and expressing gratitude to all the members of Narakas, said that it is the duty of all of us to make maximum use of the official language Hindi. Emphasizing the purpose of Narakas on inspiration, encouragement and goodwill, he said that we should motivate everyone to work in Hindi and encourage them to do good work in Hindi and develop Hindi with the aim of goodwill. While reviewing the last meeting, he requested all the member offices to register on the website of Official Language as soon as possible and also send the report to be sent to the Official Language Department on time. He gave detailed information regarding registration on the official language website and submission of quarterly and half-yearly reports. He said that we are serving in the Government of India, so we should follow all the rules under the Official Language Act so that they do not face any difficulty during the inspection of the parliamentary committee. He urged all the member offices to give a presentation of five minutes on the progress of Hindi in their respective institutes in the next meeting so that other member offices can also be benefited. Dr Kant also apprised all the visitors about the methods of computers through which they can easily do the work of Hindi typing and translation. The efficient operation of the program was done by Assistant Chief Technical Officer Mrs. Renu Sanwal and the vote of thanks was presented by Mr Lalit Mohan Tiwari, Member Secretary, Narakas.
